Stresa Excursions | |||
Stresa is
an excellent base for exploring the Italian Lake District. There are
various guided excursions picking up at hotels throughout Stresa that
will take you to Lake Como, Lake Orta and Lake Lugano as well as to
Zermatt to see the Matterhorn. You can have a guided tour to Milan with
plenty of free time for shopping or visit the traditional mountain town
of Macugnaga.
If you prefer to explore by yourself then the Lake Maggiore Express is an excellent day trip by narrow gauge railway and ferry departing from and returning to Stresa or you can take the train from Stresa into Milan and go to visit the Last Supper.
