Stresa is the perfect starting point to shop till you drop!
Stresa town centre has many boutiques and nearby Stresa are several shopping centres.
Further afield there is the central shopping area in Milan and the famous Via Montenapoleone. Stresa is also lucky to have two designer outlets in the area. |

Stresa Shopping Stresa town centre has several independent boutiques selling clothes as well as the chain stores Benetton and Benetton Lingerie. For other items there is a book shop in Piazza Cadorna, several deli shops selling cold meats, cheese and local produce. There is a market weekly on a Friday morning.

Lake Maggiore Shopping The nearest big town to Stresa is Intra and in the town centre is full of independent shops as well as well known chain stores.
Just 10 minutes by car brings you to Gravellona Toce. Although this isn't a town for sightseeing there are two chopping centres (centro commerciale) opposite each other where you will find Oviesse and Melablu discount clothes stores, Bata shoes as well as shops selling sportswear, jewellery, bags, electrical goods, kitchen and homeware, a large supermarket and the outlet shop for Lagostina kitchenware. Out of the shopping centre but still in Gravellona Toce there are other large shops and supermarkets.
In Omegna on Lake Orta you will find the flagship store for the famous Italian designer kitchen and homeware brand Alessi
About 25 minutes south of Stresa, after Arona, you will arrive in Castelletto Ticino and Dormelletto where the main road takes you along a trip of large shops and some discount outlets including Sergio Tacchini leisure and sportswear. There are also several large supermarkets.

Milan Shopping Milan's reputation as a fashion capital is easy to understand as you wander down the famous Via Montenapoleone! This street is the home to the top designers shops: Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Louis Vuitton and Dior. Together with the nearby streets Via della Spiga, Via Sant'Andrea and Via Pietro Verri the "fashion district" is formed.
To browse the high street shops then just to the left of the cathedral is Cosro Vittorio Emanuele II and the Galleria. As well as well known high street names there are several large department stores including the upmarket Rinascente and a large music and book store.

Designer Outlets There are three outlet villages in the area. The closest is The Place Luxury Outlet near Biella (approx 45 minute drive). Vicolungo Commercial Park is the next closest near Novara which is about an hour by car. Further away is a McArthurGlenn village called Serravalle Designer Outlet. This is the biggest outlet park in Europe and is situated about half way between Alessandria and Genova, about an hour and 45 minutes from Stresa by car.
